On 18 December 2024, Mr. Yoshihisa Komatsuzaki, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Bangkok, paid a courtesy call to Pol. Lt. Col. Raphiphong Chiraphatthanalak, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT), at the ECT Office in Bangkok.

 The meeting focused on exchanging general opinions regarding Thailand's local elections, particularly the elections for members of the Provincial Administrative Organization and the Chief Executives of the Provincial Administrative Organizations, which are scheduled to be held on 1 February 2025.
